Sports relief

For Sport relief we basically had to run 12 laps in our field in order to run a mile.

It was on a Monday morning and we had to dress up in red because it was for charity for people I don't know how much money we raised but it was a lot.

All the students were wearing red and we all very excited to participate.
Olivia and Millie are really happy as you can see :)

Does a mirror ever lie?

On 18th March 2016, we had our second Festival of Learning for this year.

Our big question was "Does the mirror ever lie?"

During the week, we used our knowledge of making portraits. We made sure the proportions were right.

During our art lessons, we learned how to draw eyes, nose and mouth. It was really useful when doing our own self portrait.

We also were inspired by artists we had seen at the National Portrait Gallery.
Hope your enjoy this visit of our Gallery.

In the Net

On March 21st,

The whole of yer 4 walked to Gravel Hill Primary school to see a play about being safe online.

During the play, we were told some advice in order to be safe when being online. The play talks about a girl called Dotty who is not safe so she gets thrown into the internet where she meets people that teach her to be safer.

In order to be safe online you need to
- online talk to people you know when you are online
- tell an adult and turn off the screen when you see something that upsets you online
- be polite and not write mean comments
- protect personal information

Tuesday 8 March 2016

On Friday the 4th of March, class Venus and Mars visited the National Portrait Gallery.

During our visit, we had to make our own portrait using different material and techniques.

Whilst a class was on a workshop, the other one was visiting the gallery and answering questions focused on specific portraits.

We learned different to represent a portrait. We will use what we have learned on that day during the Festival of Learning!

A day at the park

On February 29th, the whole school left the building to go to Greenwich Park.

It was a beautiful day outside. All the school took the train at different times.  It was well organised.

Venus class had a bit of history lesson with the moment of General Wolf. We also stepped on the meridian.

We had lunch in the park outside. After, Miss Goulet played a game with us.

We had a great day it was the funniest, school trip this year.

We even had a run around in the park with the class; It was like hide and seek but you hide behind trees. If you go over the boundary points you are out.
When we had finished the game we gathered all of our stuff and lined up to go into the museum.

At the museum we learned about pirates and how they lived on the ships. We had a fun time at the museum . We had to find stinky rats

We have to practice our aiming and use cannons.

Romeo and Juliet

On March 3rd,

As part of curriculum week, we had the opportunity to have an actor coming to school to teach us how to act Romeo and Juliet.

We also learned about where is centre stage, up stage. I leant that William Shakespeare was born in1564. Millie had to persuade me to help her fake a death. At first, I was laughing because she was so dramatic.but in the end I said I would help her fake her death. I was dressed as Elizebethan and Millie was Julet. It was really funny when Shae (drama teacher) told us to go stage right stage left humer tragedy history. I leant to act and do a mans voice it is deeper than my own.

Gymnastics

Ms Goulet maths class do gymnastics together. Gymnastics helps us to be determined, healthy as well as having a great happy time. We are lucky enough to have our own gymnastics teacher who helps all during the class.

Some of the things we do:

We all try to get to the top of the rope although  sometimes we don't succeed climbing to the top of the rope.
Everyone has tried to do a cartwheel sometimes we don't don't do one perfect, but we try to do one. We always help someone to do a cartwheel it they struggle to do a cartwheel.
Vault is something that everyone has done. At first it seems hard but it's easy to get the hang of it and once you get it you can start making harder moves.
Beams are hard to look good on because they our hard to balance on so you have to keep your head up and arms straight. If you don't it's likely that you will fall off of the beam if you do this you will fall onto a mat so we don't hurt ourselves.
We always do our best to land in the right position
