Mouse bird snake wolf

                                            Mouse Bird Snake Wolf

                                      Kenning

We have been reading mouse bird snake wolf in literacy and we have made some Kennings about animals. But they are not the animals from the book. They are so good that there are going on our class display for people to see and read them.

Sophie's jelly fishy thing
Olivia's penguiny thing

                  Making the animals

In the outside we where making up fake animals and real animals out of the leaves ,sticks and stones we could find in the playground sometimes our animals blow away mine blow away 4 times so I had to start again. But in the end it was really good

Reading the book

In the book that we are reading we have seen amazing things happen like making a bird and mouse out of sticks stones and leaves. Then when they made the snake he made it out of clay . They had to think really hard of how to make them.

Now we wonder about the wolf...

The Author of this book is David Almond.

Once school is over...

In After school club we have games, a tv with video games and movies, snack.
We go outside sometimes and we occasionally play on the computers in the ICT.

For snack we have noodles, sandwiches, wraps and sometimes sandwich thins.
After snack we have fruit like peppers, banana, apple and lots more.

I like After School club because we can relax after a long day at school.
We are a bit crazy sometimes at After School Club...

Athletics

First we practiced basketball at the beginning of the year in the winter when we moved onto football.

We learned how to dribble and pass.
When we done, football then we moved onto how to jump further than we normally jump.

Ajveer showed us how to do the jump.

This is how you should pass the baton.
We learned a triple jump yesterday it was really fun.

We learned to pass from the baton a french word.
PE has bean really fun as the months go on and on.

Design your zoo

During this project, we've used our mathematical knowledge to design a zoo with a partner. To start, we had to decide what animals and items we were going to have.

Then when had work out how much we spent on it like the costs of staff and maintenance. After that we had to figure out much people would have pay to get in and how much we would earn. We then had to work out how much people would spend at vending machines, shops and cafes etc. Next, we had to work on a poster to advertise our zoo and vote from 1 to 5 on other team's posters.

Also we had to work out the perimeter and area of 12 important places on our plan and how much space they took up.

Then we had to calculate how long our zoo would be open for each day. After that, we created a statistics graph showing how many people visited each day.

Finally, we got to do a self evaluation on what we enjoyed and what we learnt from this project. We think every class should do projects like Ms Goulet's.

Collecting data

As part of our work on the River Darrent, we have made graphs using Office word.

We learned how to make a bar graph as well as a line graph.

Here are the steps in order to create your graph using Office word:
1. Open a word document
2. Insert a graph
3. Choose what type of graph you want to insert
4. Copy in the excel document your data
5. Edit the format of your graph
6. There you go! You have a graph!!!

We worked in pairs, with students from both maths sets. It was a nice opportunity to learn from each other.

The most difficult part was to make sure we had copied the data at the correct place. The best part was to change the background colours.
